Srirangam's Rajagopuram Royal Tower Dear Lovers of Lord Shiva, Om Sivayanamaha! Shadaranya Shethrams. We are happy to inform you all that there was once a time when6 Maharishis-great sages lived in the 6 forests of AARCOT THATIS SHADA ARANYAMS. These Rishis had their own Shiva temples built for their daily worship. These temples were massive in size and grandeur complete with Rajagopurams or Royal Towers. An opportunity is now here for all dedicated SHIVA lovers to have darshan, a sacred audience of these holy shrines this year by joining us on PADAYATHRAA a Sacred walk along the sacred paths. This year the date is slated on 16th of the Karthigai Thamil Matham, in the ancient Tamil calendar. (1st of Dec 2008). The devotees of Shiva numbering of approx. 150 people wear the sacred Shiva Necklace Rudraksha mala on the first friday of Karthikai month. They walk the sacred path or padayatra 11th days after the first friday. This group has been doing this worship for more than 50 years now. The advantage of going on this 33kms long Padayatra is that participants get an easy and accessable entrance for all to enter the shrines in all 6 Ancient Shivalayas. In such close proximity worship of Lord Shiva at these sacred sites becomes an easy task. Normally visiting all the six temples will be very difficult due to the non-availability of the guides and seers concerned with the sites. The ancient Sthala puranas texts say that these Rishis-sages were directly from Lord Shiva's Sacred mount KAILASH in modern Tibet. OUR INTENSION OF LOCATING THE WORSHIP SITES,THAVAN, ETC IS TO ACHIEVE OUR  GOAL BY WORSHIPING IN THE SAME SACRED FORESTS that Swami AMBAL LOCATED.
